Hamilton Island is one of the 74 tropical islands in the Coral Sea, between the Queensland coast and and Great Barrier Reef. It is the largest inhabitid Island in the Whitsundays, positioned nearly half way between the coastline of Mackay and Townsville.

GETTING TO HAMILTON ISLAND

Hamilton Island is accessible via Jetstar , Qantas and Virgin. Jetstar Airways offers daily flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Qantas offers daily flights from Cairns.
Virgin Blue flies daily from Brisbane with connecting flights from Melbourne and Sydney.
Both Jetstar and Virgin fly to the Whitsunday’s (Proserpine) from Brisbane and Sydney.
Upon arriving into Proserpine airport (located on the mainland), a coach service is available to Shute Harbour where you can catch a Fantasea Blue Ferry to Hamilton Island.
By boat, Fantasea Cruises operate six services a day from Shute Harbour.
FOR KIDS
The Hamilton Island Clownfish Club incorporates a Senior Adventure Room operating exciting excursions for children ages 5 - 14 years and a Junior Childminding (6 weeks - 5 years) which is fully licenced with the Department of Families, Youth and Community Care. Parents can relax knowing that their children are enjoying safe, supervised age-related adventures including arts and crafts, beachcombing, snorkelling, hiking, fishing, mini-golf and pool games.

Whitehaven Beach
WILDLIFE PARK
Located on the resort side of the island, the Wildlife Park provides a unique opportunity for you to get up close and personal with some unique Australian wildlife.
There are a range of furry marsupials, creepy-crawlies, snakes and lizards. Take a guided tour of the Wildlife Park and meet the local koalas, kangaroos, birds and even the resident crocodile. Your guide is on hand for any questions.
When you are finished exploring the park enjoy breakfast or lunch at our café, followed by cuddling a koala, where you can also take home a souvenir photograph as a memory of your time getting back to nature on Hamilton Island.
